An original &#8217;59, if you can find one, would be in excess of \u00a340,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aboutguitars.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Epiphone-1959-Les-Paul-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aboutguitars.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Epiphone-1959-Les-Paul-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1017\" width=\"186\" height=\"207\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two finishes available.  The larger picture is called Aged Dark Burst and shown to the right is Aged Dark Cherry Burst.  I assume the &#8216;Aged&#8217; refers to the satin finish.  There is no sign of any attempt at relicing the guitar. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Featuring a satin finsh mahogany body, with a maple top and cream binding, a mahogany neck with the period correct long tenon joint also satin finshed.  The fretboard is Indian laurel, which is a bit more sustainable than the original rosewood, and 22 medium jumbo frets.  We also have Gibson\u2122 USA Burstbucker pickups and &#8217;50s wiring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously the difference in price will have some areas where cost savings are made.  <a
