This is a 2018 “Limited Edition” model which retails at approximately £1500 and apart from the crap name, consists of Telecaster Custom Shop pickups, a Telecaster bridge and a Jazzmaster style neck. Oh,and cute new logo on the headstock.
The body shape is designed for comfort with the Strat like relief for your arm and belly. I have been trying to get a look at one for a while, but they don’t seem to be available in the UK currently. Maybe that will change after BREXIT, who knows. Meanwhile I suppose I will have to organise a trip to the US to fulfil my curiosity.
Currently if you show any interest in guitars or music on Facebook you may see an advertisement for high quality guitars claiming to to be discounted. These may seem too good to be true, and they are.

Another guitar “inspired” by an artist. This one is a “road worn” model with a specification of Justin Meldal-Johnsen “signature.” He has played Bass for numerous artists, in particular Nine Inch Nails.
Personally, I like a short scale bass and this one in Daphne Blue with a split-coil pickup, 30” scale and 9.5”-radius fingerboard with rolled edges seems to be ideal.

Seen at the Guitar Show in Birmingham yesterday this new MIM version based on the classic Mustang “Offset” shape expands the range. Retailing in the UK at around £490 for the single coil MP90 pickups with the more conventional single coil model a little cheaper. Continue reading
