You may have heard of the Nashville Tele with a Texas Special™ or normal Strat pickup in the middle position, and a five-way pick up selector but this instrument takes it a step further. With the addition of a device linked to the strap button that enables a player to mechanically bend the B-string up a whole tone to C-sharp.
Originally called the pull string, this dates back to 1967 when a couple of enterprising Nashville musicians modified a Tele to bend a number of strings to get a country style slide guitar sound a bit like a pedal steel. Finally settling on the B string it became the B-Bender.
